Brad Lamm
At Breathe Life Healing Centers, we offer specialized LGBTQIA+ rehab services in Los Angeles. As a certified LGBTQIA+ organization, our programs are designed for us, by us, to provide a safe space for healing. We understand the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals and tailor our treatments accordingly.
We are a lesbian- and gay-owned and operated facility with deep ties to the community. Our compassionate staff is sensitive to the more prevalent issues faced, such as peer pressure, shaming, bullying, and social injustice. We are trained to address both addiction and these specific needs. Here’s what you can expect:
Created by Dick Schwartz, internal family systems (IFS) is the evidence-based model we use to guide our work, helping you heal. In this approach, our inner parts represent different aspects of a unified whole. Just as the parts of something make up its entirety, our parts are the intricate facets of who we are. These parts are always present, waiting to be explored and understood. By slowing down and getting curious about them, self-discovery becomes possible.
Motivational interviewing (MI) is a key component of our treatment. Many in the LGBTQIA+ community face ambivalence about making changes due to past bullying or discrimination. This therapy helps to jump-start inner motivation. MI helps clients find the motivation to change and build the confidence needed for recovery.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is another vital part of our program. LGBTQIA+ individuals often face unique stressors and issues that impact their happiness. CBT helps clients identify and change dysfunctional emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. By doing so, clients learn to stop negative reactions and develop healthier behavioral patterns.
Contingency management (CM) is an effective treatment for substance use and mental health disorders. This therapy involves setting specific goals and receiving rewards for achieving them. As clients reach their goals, they continue to be rewarded, which helps them stay on track. This method encourages sobriety and reinforces healthy habits.
Our LGBTQIA-focused addiction treatment in Los Angeles is comprehensive. We offer individualized care plans that address both addiction and mental health.
Our supportive environment ensures that every client feels safe and understood. Group therapy sessions provide a sense of community and belonging. We also offer family therapy to help repair relationships.
We treat more queer clients and women than most others. Breathe is a place that is straight-friendly, and where women can feel safe in an environment that values equality. We ensure that our environment is welcoming to all. Our goal is to support you every step of the way.
Our program places a strong focus on helping individuals with substance use disorders, including meth addiction. Our Crystal Clear™ curriculum, in particular, tackles the complexities of ChemSex recovery. For addiction treatment, we provide:
The LGBTQIA+ community experiences high rates of eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. Our treatment includes:

Breathe Life Healing Centers have made an outstanding contribution to the world of recovery. Their ability to address clinical complexity, their welcoming and truly inclusive culture, and their tailored, evidence-based care have made them a “go to” for me and for well-respected colleagues, particularly those with clients in high accountable, safety-sensitive professional roles.
As an interventionist, Brad Lamm is particularly sensitive, skillful in engaging clients and instilling hope where there there is none – he opens the door and enables even highly reluctant individuals to walk forward to a healthy and fulfilling life.

Breathe has been an integral part in my ongoing healing and recovery. The staff are knowledgeable and genuine in their care. It was truly a spiritual experience from the inside out. I’ve carried what I learned there with me into relationships and experiences throughout my recovery. So very happy with my time at Breathe.

LGBTQIA+ is an acronym that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual. The ‘plus’ symbol shows the inclusivity of any orientation not mentioned, such as non-binary, pansexual, or those still questioning.
ChemSex is the use of drugs, generally a stimulant like meth, to enhance sexual experiences, commonly seen in the gay community. This practice can lead to severe addiction and mental health challenges, making recovery complex.
