What is it

What Is Yoga & Mindfulness?

Yoga and mindfulness practice are part of the holistic programming available at Breathe. Like every therapy we offer, how much a part they play in your plan is worked out with your clinical team, not applied as a one-size-fits-all track.

Yoga and mindfulness practice are part of the holistic programming available at Breathe. They work with the body and the present moment directly, breath, movement, grounding, offering a different way into regulation than talk therapy alone. In residential, yoga sits alongside breathwork and sound baths, helping you settle back into your body before the deeper trauma work that follows.

These practices sit alongside your clinical treatment, not as a separate wellness add-on. They're introduced where they genuinely support your plan, helping build the kind of body awareness and stress regulation that supports the rest of your recovery work.

Do I need prior yoga experience to participate?+

These sessions are built for people at any level, not for people who already consider themselves yoga practitioners.

Is this a substitute for clinical therapy?+

Yoga and mindfulness work alongside your clinical treatment, not in place of it.

What if I'm not comfortable with physical movement or touch?+

Mindfulness practices like breath work and grounding don't require physical intensity or touch, and can be adapted to your comfort.

Do you offer breathwork and sound baths?+

Yes. Breathwork and sound baths are part of residential programming at Breathe, alongside yoga and mindfulness. Guided breathing and sound give your nervous system a chance to slow down, which can make it easier to stay present in groups and therapy. Like the rest of your plan, how often you join is worked out with your clinical team.

How often are yoga and mindfulness sessions offered?+

Frequency depends on your specific level of care and treatment plan. Your team can walk you through what your schedule includes.

Is this only for stress relief, or does it connect to my recovery specifically?+

It connects directly. Building body awareness and grounding skills supports the same regulation work happening in your broader treatment plan.

Is this covered by insurance?+

It's included as part of your overall treatment plan, not billed separately. Our admissions team can walk you through what your coverage includes.
