, Deb Hughes, Co-founder
Dr. Karp graduated cum laude from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture before attending medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship in Philadelphia, then a residency in psychiatry at Norristown State Hospital. He previously served as Chief Medical Officer at Palm Beach Institute and spent ten years directing psychiatry and medical care at Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders in Wickenburg, Arizona. “When my partner Deb Hughes and I envisioned creating a world-class sub-acute trauma program, we had one doctor in mind: Steve Karp. Deb and I had collaborated with him for years, and while our founding Clinical Director Kathleen Murphy was our dream pick at the time, the timing wasn’t right for Dr. Karp then. The time is now, and it’s perfect.”
, Brad Lamm
Dr. Karp went on to teach, speak, and present alongside Breathe’s senior leadership team.
